Effective 5 September 2026
The short version: this website has no forms and does not collect your telephone number. We only hold information you give us during a call you chose to make.
Who we are
TryAlarms is an independent marketing service for home security systems in the United States. We are not a security provider, installer or monitoring company. When you call, we connect you with a specialist who can arrange a professionally installed system through one of our partner providers. Those providers compensate us for qualified customer referrals.
Information we collect
From this website. We do not operate any form on this site. We do not ask for, receive or store your name, telephone number, email address or postal address through this website.
Our servers and analytics tools record ordinary technical information when you visit: browser type, device type, approximate region derived from IP address, the pages you viewed, how you arrived, and whether you tapped a call button. This is used to understand how the site performs. It is not used to identify you personally.
From a call you make. If you call the number on this site, we collect what you tell the specialist — typically your name, telephone number, address or ZIP code, whether you own or rent, and what you are looking for. Calls may be recorded or monitored for quality and training purposes; you are told this at the start of the call and may ask not to be recorded.
Call tracking
We use call tracking to understand which advertising drives calls. This may mean the number displayed to you is specific to the source you arrived from. Call tracking records the number you called from, the time and duration of the call, and the advertising source. It does not access anything else on your phone.
How we use it
- To connect you with a provider that services your address
- To arrange a quote, and installation if you decide to proceed
- To operate, secure and improve this website and our advertising
- To comply with legal obligations and to defend legal claims
Who we share it with
Partner providers. If you ask us to arrange a quote, we share the details you gave on the call with the provider who will serve you. We tell you who that is during the call.
Service providers. Telephony and call-tracking providers, hosting providers and analytics providers, each acting on our instructions and only for the purposes above.
Legal. Where required by law, subpoena, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
We do not sell your information to data brokers, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
How long we keep it
Call records and the details taken during a call are retained for up to four years. This period reflects the limitation period for telephone-marketing claims and allows us to evidence what was discussed and agreed. Website analytics data is retained for up to 26 months.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how it is used
- Access a copy of it
- Delete it, subject to the retention period above
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Opt out of any sale or sharing
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
California residents have these rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have comparable rights.
To exercise any right, email privacy@tryalarms.com with the telephone number you called from so we can locate your record. We will verify your identity before acting and respond within the period your state law requires.
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request.
Stopping contact
You can ask to be placed on our internal do-not-call list at any time by telling the specialist on the call, replying STOP to any text message, or emailing us. Once your details have been passed to a provider, that provider controls its own contact with you; tell them directly or contact us and we will pass the request on. You may also register at donotcall.gov.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
TryAlarms does not sell personal information. If you leave your details through the optional callback form, they are used only to return your call. To ask us not to share your information, or to delete it, call the number on this page or write to us at the address below, and we will act on the request within the time required by your state's law.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising measurement. You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them will not prevent you from using this site or calling us.
Google Ads. This site uses the Google Ads conversion tag so we can see which adverts lead to phone calls. It sets cookies in your browser and reports to Google that a call button was tapped. It does not send Google your name, your phone number, or the content of any call. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
Children
This site is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above changes when we do.
